Change

In life we are constantly faced with choices. Each choice we make changes the direction of our life. Most are small in the amount of movement. For instance skipping a workout does not instantly change you. Deciding to binge on sweets does not instantly make you huge. But choices like this over time if left unchanged will definitely change you. With no exercise and poor eating habits you will put on weight. But these things do take time and don't happen overnight.
The same is true in our spiritual lives. Not doing devotions one day is not going to send you to hell. Missing a weekend service is not making you backslide. But as you miss more and more it gets easier to to do without them. Without time with God we tend to make decisions ourselves and that definitely leads to problems.
Again it takes time and because of the slow process you will not even realize how far away you have moved from God.
King David was a man after God's own heart but we know his story.
Somehow David began to compromise things. It was a slow, gradual process but it eventually led him to this scripture.
1 In the spring of the year, when kings normally go out to war, Joab led the Israelite army in successful attacks against the land of the Ammonites. In the process he laid siege to the city of Rabbah. However, David stayed behind in Jerusalem.

David was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Because of choices he made he wasn't on the battlefield where he should have been.
It is never too late to change your direction.
Maybe you are headed the wrong way.
It way be only a tiny movement in the wrong direction but if you leave it unchecked eventually you will be in a place that you never thought possible.
Take a quick inventory.
See where you are.
Then make the changes today!
